A youtuber, Shobhit Banwait is a Toronto based native who adds insanely good DESI BEATS to both Hindi and English songs. Aka Brampton “drummer boy”, Shobhit Banwait became a big name after his Tabla cover of Sia’s Cheap Thrill went viral. Banwait plays tabla, a pair of drums native to South Asia really and often uses the handed-down instrument to accompany popular radio hits.
He has been popular even for his fusion of English hits with traditional desi beats but the best part is- he won’t forget his roots. “I am always putting an Indian touch to it in my head”, says the Brampton native. His love for music was incited by his father who use to sing in a band and play dholak, a two sided drum, he said. His origin of inspiration, his father had no clue of his son’s success until lately.
When Ranbir Kapoor’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil released nearly two months ago, people were not only talking about his chemistry with the leading actresses but also it’s beautiful music which left us all enchanted. The light music composed by Pritam Chakraborty making the album a flash hit is like a food to the soul.
